SOLO TECHNO PARK

Solo Techno Park (STP) is an education and technology center, regional in character and international in scope. STP of Surakarta will promote regional development through a synergistic relationship between industry, government and academics, called "Triple Helix".

 

The important component is the facilitation of human resources which is characterized in particular by providing educational services in the field of practical industrial applications. Other services of STP is to promote entrepreneurship and innovation by using sophisticated incubators and dissemination of extensive counseling services, both in technical and operational context for the local economy.

 

All the existing and planned STP service in the future aimed at improving competitiveness and performance of local companies, to ensure increased employment opportunities and sustainable economic growth.

 

 

 

CEPA

 

Education and Practical Applications Centre (CEPA) offers practical training programs and consultation services for applied technology and complete portfolio of training and consulting in Solo Technopark.

 

With a customized training program, professional skills of graduates of vocational schools and colleges, vocational school teachers and employees of the industry will be increased thus increasing their chances on the labor market and also their ability to teach students effectively.

Currently, training sessions are offered in the following areas:

 

1. MANUFACTURE Mechanic

 

During the nine-month training program consists of three stages:

Phase 1 (Basic Skills Mechanical) students learn the basics of mechanical manufacturing. Supported by an experienced trainer, participants learn to handle modern machine tools and application techniques of modern production processes.

Phase 2 (Applied Skills) skills gained from phase 1 will be deepened. This may include certain practical applications, in which participants learn to solve practical problems in manufacturing and mechanical assembly.

Stage 3 (Internship) participants passed the three-month industry internship to further enhance their skills so it's ready to face future activities in the industrial world.

After successfully completing all phases of the training program, participants receive a certificate (Certificate of Expertise) and support in finding jobs.

 

2. Welding

 

In the field of welding technology, Solo Technopark has formed Welding Center that offers basic and advanced training and technical services for welding issues.

Programs offered include oxy-fuel, inert gas welding (MIG, MAG, and TIG) and electric welding (MMA). Therefore, STP provides 24 welding booths with the most modern equipments.

In addition, specialized training is also available for underwater welding. With training tank measuring 8 x 8 m wide and within 10 m of the participants will gain practical experience of underwater welding. After completing of the course, highly qualified specialists will then be responsible for maintenance and repairs such as: floating structures, ships and oil rigs.

 

3. GARMENT Mechanic

 

In the first part of this course, participants will gain a basic understanding of operational processes in the garment industry. After that, students are trained in dealing with other machines such as sewing machines and obras. In addition to the practical applications, the students also learn about engineering, especially in repairing machines and maintenance. If participants successfully completing this course, they will receive a certificate of expertise to offer a better work opportunities in the garment industry.

 

 

 

Teaching Factory

 

The Teaching Factory Concept is an extension of the vocational school curriculum choices in the city of Solo. After deepening the basic theory in vocational schools, the senior students learn to develop products and services in the actual production conditions. They supported the guidance of experienced coaches excellence and cutting-edge production facilities. Thus the gap between the practical needs of industry and theoretical training in vocational schools will be closed thereby increasing students' career opportunities.

Currently, application-oriented training programs offered in the following areas:

 

1. Automotive

 

Teaching Factory has two assembly lines installed where the partial and final assembling of vehicles made by students in the actual industrial conditions. This includes tasks such as installation of all cabling and fan to the body and frame. Currently available are two types of interesting vehicles which has been assembled and presented to the market, a double cabins pick-up and  SUV. Services, spare parts and repairs are also offered by the automotive unit.

 

2. IT/Electronic

 

In IT/Electronics units, students assemble a high-quality electronic components for reliable netbooks, PCs and digital projectors. A continuous quality control is done to ensure that everything is operating properly. This product is offered at an attractive price, a current hardware configuration with one-year warranty. However, if repairs were needed, it can be done by the students of this unit. Netbooks / PC equipped with an open operating system installation "Ubuntu" and "Open Office " package.

 

3. Mechanical Engineering

 

In the field of Mechanical Engineering, students are provided by advanced production machineries in milling, turning and drilling. Students also do the partial and final assembly of an engine. Currently, high-quality machine tools and accessories is offered to the market. Maintenance and repairs are also carried out by units of Mechanical Engineering.
